Amina Sarauniya Zazzau was a legendary warrior queen who ruled the Zazzau Kingdom in the 16th century. Zazzau kingdom is the present-day Zaria located in Kaduna Northern Nigeria. Though many details of her life are shrouded in mystery, her existence is undisputed. Amina was the 24th ruler of Zazzau, succeeding her brother. She quickly established herself as a formidable leader, earning the respect of the Zazzau military. Amina's reign was marked by her military prowess and her expansion of the Zazzau Kingdom.
Queen Amina led several military campaigns, conquering neighboring states and extending Zazzau's influence.
